10 Things to Do in Bexley Ohio
Summer is arguably the best season in Columbus – some might even call in magical. It’s patio season and it seems every spare moment is spent outside.
With Memorial Day just a couple weeks away, the start of summer is just around the corner! I’m planning to highlight some of my favorite places around the city with mini neighborhood guides.
I’m starting at home with one of my favorites – Bexley, Ohio. Just about 5 miles from downtown, Bexley is an established tree-filled neighborhood in the suburbs of Columbus. Known for its’ award-winning schools and close knit community, Bexley is often a top destination among house hunters. With a major focus on its’ Main Street in recent years, Bexley has also become a destination for visitors.

- Enjoy the new patio at Kittie’s Cakes – they’ve created such a fun spot with their SoCal vibes, Stumptown coffee, and mouth-watering baked goods. Now that the weather is warm, they’ve opened a small side patio. Be sure to order the iced Mocha – with just the right amount of sweet chocolate flavor, it’s perfect for cooling down on a warm day.
- Browse adjoining bookstore – Gramercy – a carefully curated bookstore full of gift-able, unique books. Gramercy is also the first independent bookstore to open in Columbus during the past 12 years.
- Indulge your sweet tooth at one of the famous ice cream stores – like Graeter’s, Johnson’s, or Jeni’s
- Sip on some cold pressed juice from Native Cold Pressed – they first opened in Columbus’ trendy Short North neighborhood in 2014 and brought their 2nd location to Bexley. In addition to juice, they offer smoothie bowls and healthy bites.
- Munch on gluten-free pastries from Cherbourg Bakery
- Walk the tree-lined streets and admire the homes with the summer landscaping
- Check out one of the favorite local “hidden spots” – the reflection fountains at Capital
- Savor an evening on Giuseppe’s patio – an intimate outdoor dining space, it’s the perfect spot to watch all of the summer action along Main Street (or if you’re lucky to snag a table during Bexley’s famous 4th of July fireworks presentation). Giuseppe’s has some of best Italian food I’ve had (outside of Europe).
- Take a Fitness Class at one of several yoga studios or the gym
- Play, hike, (or even kayak!) at Jeffrey Mansion/Jeffrey Park
