One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday is to hop in the car and take a quick trip out of town. It’s especially nice when the town is less than 1 hour from the city. From Columbus, some of my favorites include Hocking Hills, Granville, and of course, Yellow Springs.
This past weekend we headed into Yellow Springs to enjoy the warm 60 degree weather and get some fresh air. We enjoyed stopping in many of the small shops, eating brunch, and taking a peek at all of the cute houses decorated for Christmas.
Where to Eat:
The last 2 times I’ve been in Yellow Springs, I have eaten at the Sunrise Cafe and it’s delicious! Everything is made to order and most of it is made with local ingredients and/or organic. They’re always packed, so stop to put your name in and expect to wait 15-30 minutes for a table. You can enjoy some of the shops while you’re waiting 🙂
What I’m Wearing:
I absolutely love this 60 degree weather. It’s cool enough to still wear all of the layers, but not so cold that you freeze when you’re outdoors or that you really need to bundle up.
When I’m on the move, I love to wear loose, comfortable layers. I started with this flowy orange top that I snagged from Forever 21 last spring. (Also seen here) You can find similar versions here and here. I added some of my favorite black harem pants. Mine are from Target, but you can find similar ones here and here. I added my camel colored boyfriend sweater for warmth like this one or this one and finished with my anorak jacket. I love wearing that jacket on damp/slightly rainy days. It’s the perfect top layer – similar to this one or this one. Finally I wore my Puma flats for comfort. I added a pop of color with this purse and topped off the whole look with this fedora. Don’t you love a good hat?
