One of my favorite spring purchases was this trench coat from ASOS. A trench coat is one of those items that had been on my “wish list” for a while and I think it’s something every girl should have in her closet. Now the trench coat on my “wish list” is actually this one – a girl can dream, right? So since that one wasn’t in my current budget, I went searching for a quality, affordable option and have been thrilled with this one.
I picked it up before my spring trip to New York when the weather was quite chilly and rainy. You may remember this Instagram post. It kept me warm all day as we explored the city. I was able to wear it through most of May (as we had a chilly spring) and packed it up for the summer. Columbus has been quite rainy this last week, so I was excited to pull this trench coat out. It’s an easy way to add a layer of warmth (as well as sophistication) without adding bulk.
For this look, I wanted to show an easy look for a day out-on-the-town. I wore this peplum top with a pair of dark jeans. Add some sparkly earrings and heels for a touch of glam or tone it down with some subtle sparkle and chic flats.
To finish the look, I added a bright pink tote (older from Shopbop), fun sunglasses, and a pop of lip color.
