If you missed yesterday’s post about Day 1 at NYFW – you can read it here. Each day had a slightly different pace and set of activities. On the second day, I just had one show and then a bunch of events.
Dan Liu show
My first show of the day was the Dan Liu show at Skylight Clarkson. Since everything was new on the first day, it was nice to return to the same venue. It was a bit cooler in the morning, so I took the subway down and walked to the venue. Since I really did a number on my feet with all of the walking the first day, I was smarter and just opted for flats until just around the corner where I could change into my heels. I got there a touch earlier, so I spent some time in the lounge. One of my goals for NYFW was to network a bit, so it helps to leave a little cushion in your schedule (when possible), so you can talk to the people around you. If nothing else, try to strike up a conversation with people while you’re waiting in line.
This season’s Dan Liu collection was full of simple, feminine, French-inspired pieces. I enjoyed some of the lace pieces. You can shop the current season’s pieces here.
Style Collective Brunch
Following the show, I made my way over to a brunch at Pennsylvania 6 NYC with the ladies from Style Collective. I have been part of the online community since the beginning, but we hadn’t actually met in person yet. It was fun to put a face to the names (and Instagram handles) for so many of the people that I had connected with online.
Shop style Social House
After brunch, many of us headed to the Shopstyle Social House event at the Glasshouses. This was such a fun/beautiful event. There were 2 floors and lots of brands to connect with. I picked up some super cute Hallmark cards from their Signature line, a monogrammed Gigi New York cross body, some Sam Edelman pumps, a BaubleBar necklace, and some fun cosmetics from NYX. There was also the option to rent out clothes while in the city for fashion week. I checked out this Milly skirt (stayed tuned for the post next week!).
In addition to the brands, there were also activities like shooting with a professional photographer. I was able to shoot with Ugla Hauks and she took some beautiful photos on the outdoor deck. Scroll down to see them at the bottom of the post!
Happy Hour with rewardStyle group
My final event of the day was a fun, informal meet up with some fellow rewardStyle bloggers. Again, it was a fun way to put a face to the names of all the fellow bloggers I’ve met online. As a blogger, it’s helpful to connect with other bloggers not only for support, but also to talk things through and figure out the business aspects of things. In many ways, the blogging industry as a business is still so new.
What I wore
With another day of hot weather, I opted for comfortable and simple. I chose this black dress and paired it with these black flats for walking and these heels for the events. I finished the loop with a pop of pink lipstick and fun tassel earrings from H&M.
