Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph – Spa Suites
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to try out the new Spa Suites at Le Meridien, The Joseph.
The Joseph Hotel is a relatively new hotel in Columbus that opened last year in the Short North. They recently launched the Joseph Editions (you can read more in this post) and the Joseph Editions will have their grand opening this weekend during Gallery Hop (see their Facebook for more info).
The Spa Suites opened at the Joseph in September 2015. The Suites are 2 designated rooms within the hotel that offer all of the traditional spa services such as massages and facials. I opted for the Tranquil European Massage which is described as a “massage treatment to stretch and re-strengthen muscles encouraging relief from aches and pains.” There is an option for a 60 minute massage or a 90 minute massage. I had the 60 minute option which was then followed by 30 minutes of relaxation time in the Suite.
The Spa services are available to anyone – whether you are guest of the hotel or not.
Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was greeted at the front desk and I filled out an information card about my health and some information about what I hoping to get out of the day’s services (like if I had any sore areas). I was then greeted by a member of the spa staff who took me up to the Suites. In the Suites, I met my massage therapist for the day. Before our session began, I was able to get comfortable in the stone chaise while he went over my information card and we picked which products would be used during the massage. They use only ESPA products for their services – like these oils.
I thoroughly enjoyed the session itself with the calming music and attentive massage therapist. As I mentioned, following the massage, there was built in relaxation time. During that time, I spent some time taking in the views and enjoying the shower room.
The Suite looks out over High Street and also has a great view of downtown. 
One of my favorite parts of the experience was the shower room – yes, room! The actual shower is a rainwater style shower with about 9 fixtures that shower year from all directions. You can also adjust the temperature to an exact degree. My favorite part of the room, however, was the heated chaise. The white, mosaic chair was warm and the perfect place to continue relaxing after the massage.
It’s always a treat to spend an afternoon relaxing at a Spa and this time was no different. I can’t wait for my next trip back.
