Summer Days on the Scioto Mile Columbus

Scioto Mile Columbus

This summer my guy and I have been enjoying exploring new corners of Columbus. I have been in Columbus for 15 years and there are so many areas that I have yet to explore and see. One of them was the Scioto Mile. I have been to Milestone 229 a few times (like this blog event) and even worked near there, but only recently had I walked along the river or walked around downtown on foot. It’s easy to miss things when you’re just driving by!

For this shoot, we decided to use the Ohio Supreme Court building as our backdrop – what a beautiful building!

I’m all about outfits that are “simple” and affordable without being boring. Today’s outfit is the perfect example of that. It’s best to start with one piece. For this outfit, I started with this bold, patterned top from Old Navy. I loved the graphic blue and white pattern. There is also a fun cutout in the back and it’s made in a heavier fabric – perfect for wearing to a chilly office or to transition into fall. I then added these bright pink boyfriend shorts also from Old Navy. Even though the pink color pops, the classic silhouette of the shorts as well as the shorter length makes them a good fit for the boxier top. I also added some leather wedge heels for some height and to help balance out the boxy top again. These shoes are actually a few years old (also from Old Navy!), but I found some other similar options – like this pair and this pair.

Other outfit details: purse, watch, earrings, ring, and sunglasses.
