I love taking the time to celebrate fall and thanksgiving, so as excited as I get about the Christmas decor, I try to wait until after Thanksgiving to put anything up. I like to decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving. The main element of holiday decor is always the Christmas tree for me. Growing up we had a live tree and then transitioned to an artificial one. In my own place, I’ve opted to go back to a live tree – I just LOVE the smell! This year, however, I think we will buy a slightly smaller one than we did last year!
I love checking out the stores and store windows for holiday decor inspiration. I love fun little characters – like these Nutcracker glasses or this llama tea towel and I also love how so much of this year’s decor is shiny and bright! Since the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is so short, I like to find decorative items that can last into the winter season. (and even throughout the year – I’d definitely keep these candles out year round)
